Linux kernel package for real-time systems started shipping for Ubuntu

Canonical announced that it has completed testing of Linux kernel packages for real-time systems. The package with the real-time core is considered ready for widespread use and is no longer positioned as experimental.

Ready-made builds are generated for the x86_64 and Aarch64 architectures, and are distributed through the Ubuntu Pro service for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and Ubuntu Core 22 distributions. The package is based on the Linux 5.15 kernel and patches from the RT branch of the Linux kernel ("Realtime-Preempt", PREEMPT_RT or "- rt") to reduce latency and achieve predictable event processing times.
