The budget for the creation and promotion (including outside of Russia) promises to be a record. Judging by the release date, the creators are confident of success and are not afraid of competition for viewers' wallets with New Year's blockbusters. Nothing has been announced about the cast of the upcoming film.
Metro 2033 is the first part of a trilogy of novels about the life of people in the Moscow subway after a nuclear war. The book became an international bestseller and has been translated into 37 languages, not least thanks to the game adaptation.
