Valve has summed up the results of the Steam store for 2019. The developers shared statistics and talked about plans for the future.

In 2019, the number of monthly users of the service grew to 95 million people. This is five million more than in 2018. The developers also boasted that last year they had the most successful sale in Steam history, but did not specify its name.

Other Steam achievements for 2019:

  • The service began to operate a system to counter user attacks with reviews. She recorded 44 such cases;
  • More than 4,3 million products have been uploaded to the Steam Workshop;
  • After updating the library, the number of daily reviews tripled - from 17 to 70 thousand;
  • The Remote Play Together feature, designed for playing local multiplayer with friends over the Internet (launched in November 2019), was used by 2,3 million players;
  • The number of games with Linux support increased from 3400 to 6500;
  • In 2019, Steam users spent 20 hours playing games (over 789 years!).

As for plans for the coming year, Valve plans to expand support for game soundtracks, develop a more extensive platform for analyzing game data on Steam, and update SteamVR to version 2.0. The developers will also improve existing functions and have announced the existence of several unannounced projects.
