Jakarta EE 10 is available, continuing the development of Java EE after being handed over to the Eclipse project

The Eclipse community introduced the Jakarta EE 10 platform. Jakarta EE replaced Java EE (Java Platform, Enterprise Edition) after transferring the specification, TCK, and reference implementation processes to the non-profit Eclipse Foundation. The platform continued under a new name as Oracle transferred only technology and project management, but did not transfer the rights to use the Java trademark to the Eclipse community.

Among the main innovations of Jakarta EE 10 is the inclusion of opportunities for creating Java applications that correspond to the Cloud native paradigm. A new Core profile has been proposed that offers a subset of the Jakarta EE specifications for building lightweight Java applications and microservices, as well as CDI-Lite, a stripped-down version of the CDI (Contexts and Dependency Injection) component. Specifications have been updated for over 20 Jakarta EE components, including CDI 4.0, RESTful Web Services 3.1, Security 3.0, Servlet 6.0, Faces (JSF) 4.0, JSON Binding (JSON-B) 3.0, and Persistence.
