Microsoft Edge for Linux available

Microsoft has released a preview version of its Edge browser for Linux and is available for download in the developer channel.

Microsoft Edge is a browser from Microsoft, first released in 2015 simultaneously with the very first version of Windows 10. It replaced Internet Explorer. Initially powered by its own EdgeHTML engine, Microsoft later opted for the popular open-source Chromium engine in the hopes of increasing the browser's market share and ensuring compatibility with its rich library of extensions.

There are limitations in the current version of Microsoft Edge for Linux: some features may not work, users cannot yet sign in to Microsoft Edge with a Microsoft account or Active Directory.

Linux builds of Microsoft Edge for Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, and openSUSE are now available.
