GNU Emacs 27.1 text editor release available

GNU project опубликовал text editor release GNU Emacs 27.1. Up until the release of GNU Emacs 24.5, the project was developed under the personal direction of Richard Stallman, who handed project leader to John Wiegley in autumn 2015.

Among the added improvements:

• Built-in tab bar support ('tab-bar-mode') to treat windows as tabs;
• Library involvement HarfBuzz for text rendering;
• Support for parsing JSON format;
• Improved output support with the Cairo library;
• Built-in support for integers of arbitrary size in Emacs Lisp;
• Termination of use unexec to organize loading in favor of a new portable "dumper" mechanism;
• Taking into account the requirements of XDG specifications when placing initialization files;
• Additional initialization file early-init;
• Enable by default lexical bindings in Emacs Lisp;
• Ability to resize and rotate images without using the ImageMagick package.
