SME Server 10.1 Linux Server Distribution Available

The release of the server Linux distribution kit SME Server 10.1 is presented, built on the basis of the CentOS 7 package base and intended for use in the server infrastructure of small and medium-sized businesses. A feature of the distribution is the presence of pre-configured standard components, completely ready for use and configured via the web interface. Such components include a mail server with spam filtering, a web server, a print server, a file archive, a directory service, a firewall, and so on. The size of iso images is 1.5 GB and 635 MB.

Among the changes in the new release:

  • Moved from mysql 5.1 to mariadb 5.5.
  • The Dovecot package is used to access mail via the imap, imaps, pop3, and pop3s protocols.
  • Improved log processing.
  • Updated bglibs and cvm-unix versions.
  • The backups include component data from the Contribs section.
  • Improved work with SSL certificates.
  • The ability to use encryption in all supported services is provided.
  • Instead of mod_php, php-fpm is used to execute PHP scripts.
  • Most services have been moved to use systemd.
