The Android-x86 project, a community-driven development of the x86 port of the Android platform, has published the sixth stable build release based on the Android 8.1 platform. The assembly includes fixes and additions that improve the work of Android on the x86 architecture. Universal live builds of Android-x86 8.1-r6 for x86 32-bit (640 MB) and x86_64 (847 MB) architectures, suitable for use on typical laptops and tablet PCs, have been prepared for download. Additionally, an rpm package has been prepared for installing the Android environment in Linux distributions.

The new version is synchronized with the Android 8.1.0 Oreo MR1 (8.1.0_r81) codebase. Updated Linux kernel (4.19.195), Mesa (19.3.5) and ALSA sound system components (alsa-lib 1.2.5, alsa-utils 1.2.5). Added alsa_alsamixer utility and ucm (Use Case Manager) files for auto-configuration of parameters of the sound subsystem of mobile devices. Bugs fixed and new optimizations implemented.
