DoubleContact 0.2.0

After a row minor versions A major new update has been released to DoubleContact, a standalone and DE-independent contact editor primarily focused on editing, comparing, and merging phone books.

Major changes compared to version 0.1:

  • support for CSV format (currently, files from some Explay phones are supported, as well as a universal profile that allows you to save all contact information);
  • support for reading NBF and NBU files (Nokia backup files);
  • partial support for vCard 4.0;
  • hard sorting of the address book (for saving and generating reports);
  • output of a report on the address book in HTML format;
  • added a large number of supported vCard tags (including non-standard ones) and display columns;
  • the ability to customize the appearance of contact tables (fonts, colors, frames);
  • fixed a number of errors;
  • translations added: Dutch, German, Norwegian (Bokmål), Ukrainian;
  • license updated to GPLv3 or higher.

These are just the most interesting changes. Full changelogs are available on Github at Russian и English languages.

The program is written in C++ using Qt 4/5 libraries.

Full support for working with network resources (CardDAV, Google Contacts) is planned for version 0.3.0. At the moment, experimental reading of address books using the CardDAV protocol has been implemented (tested on ownCloud and Nextcloud), which is disabled by default when building the program.
