The results of the annual project leader elections have been summed up. Debian455 developers participated in the vote, representing 44% of all eligible voters (last year's turnout was 33%, and the year before, 37%). This year, two candidates ran for the leadership post. Jonathan Carter won and was re-elected for a second term.
Jonathan has been supporting over 60 packages in Debian, participates in improving the quality of Live images in the team debian-live and is one of the developers of AIMS Desktop, assembly Debian, used in a number of South African scientific and educational institutions.
The second candidate for the lead was Sruthi Chandran from India, who strives for diversity in the community, is a member of the Outreach Team and maintains about 200 packages related to Ruby, JavaScript, GoLang and fonts, including the maintainer of gitlab, gitaly and rails.
