EK Water Blocks has unveiled the new EK-Vector RTX Titan full coverage water block designed for the NVIDIA Titan RTX graphics card. The Slovenian manufacturer seems to have considered that the most expensive consumer graphics card of the Turing generation is worthy of an unusual water block, so they used real gold to create it.
The base of the water block, as well as some other elements, is covered with gold. The base itself is made of refined copper. Of course, the decision to cover the base with a layer of gold is more driven by aesthetic considerations and the desire to give the EK-Vector RTX Titan a unique look. Gold protects the copper from corrosion, as does the more common nickel plating. And interestingly, gold has three times better thermal conductivity compared to nickel, but given the extremely thin thickness of the protective coating, this is unlikely to affect the cooling efficiency.
The upper part of the EK-Vector RTX Titan water block is made of black plastic (polyformaldehyde). The terminal with four holes for connecting the water block to the LSS circuit is also made of this material. Fittings with G1/4β³ thread are supported. Not without a customizable RGB backlight, which is equipped only with the βTITANβ logo on one of the ends of the water block.
The novelty is compatible not only with the NVIDIA Titan RTX graphics card, but also with the reference GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, since they are built on the same printed circuit boards. The EK-Vector RTX Titan water block is already available for pre-order in the EK Water Blocks branded online store for a price of 250 euros. Sales of new items will begin on April 5.
