EK Water Blocks has introduced a new processor water block called EK-Velocity sTR4 in the Quantum Line series. The novelty was developed specifically for AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors and is already the third EK water block for these chips.
The base of the water block EK-Velocity sTR4 is made of nickel-plated copper. It is made large enough to cover the entire processor cover. On the inside, there is a large microchannel structure made up of 91 ribs. Microchannels are located above each of the four dies of the Ryzen Threadripper processor, which ensures uniform heat dissipation and, accordingly, better performance.
The top of the new water block for the Ryzen Threadripper is available in several different materials. It is available in nickel-plated brass, clear acrylic or black polyformaldehyde. In all three cases, it was not without customizable RGB lighting. Although versions with plastic covers are available without it. The backlight is compatible with all popular control technologies from motherboard manufacturers.
The manufacturer notes that in addition to the Ryzen Threadripper processors, which are made in the Socket TR4 package, the EK-Velocity sTR4 water block is also compatible with the identical Socket SP3 connector. This socket, we recall, is intended for AMD EPYC server processors. The ease of installation of the water block is also noted, because this does not require removing the motherboard from the case and does not require additional tools.
The EK-Velocity sTR4 water block is already available for order in the EK Water Blocks online store. The cost of the most affordable versions with plastic covers is 100 euros, for similar models, but with backlight you will have to pay 10 euros more, and the all-metal version of the EK-Velocity sTR4 water block is priced at 130 euros.
