In an interview with Takahisa, Taura said that there are currently no plans to publish additional content for Astral Chain, despite the fact that Platinum Games is considering various ways to expand the franchise if the project is successful. And one of the options is to turn the action into a trilogy or even a larger series.
In addition, the studio separately spoke about Ark, an artificial island city where the events of Astral Chain unfold. It consists of several districts connected together. They also include several smaller areas called zones. Over time, the island grew larger and changed its shape as more zones were built. At the time of the events of the game, Ark has grown to about 300 km2. Each district has its own atmosphere and features that distinguish them from each other.
Each zone is identified by a two-digit number. The first digit indicates which area it belongs to, and the second indicates the number of the zone in that area. For example, zone 36 is the sixth zone in the Third District. Ark consists of five districts, from Zero to Fourth. Plus one special one that you can spot in the top right corner of the map. The developers will talk about it later.
Life in Ark fits the popular idea of ββthe future. Everywhere holograms and bright advertising. The city offers all kinds of amenities, including vending machines with a wide range of products, from drinks and ice cream to hot meals. In Astral Chain, they will act as shops.
