Action-platformer Spelunky 2 is coming to PC without co-op

In a statement published on Steam, the developer said that Spelunky 2 on PlayStation 4 (it was released on the console on September 15) was received very well - many publications gave high marks. Over the past time, the team has been fixing bugs and preparing the game for launch on Steam. Online multiplayer on PlayStation 4 hasn't been easy for Mossmouth and BlitWorks, so it won't be coming to PC just yet.

β€œIn terms of release date, we listened to community feedback and decided to prioritize an earlier release so Steam players can enjoy the game as soon as possible. β€œUnfortunately, this means that we will not be able to launch an online multiplayer game, and we will temporarily remove the β€˜Co-op (Online)’ label from the store so as not to mislead people,” the developer wrote.

On the other hand, developers will have time to improve network functions and implement cross-platform multiplayer between Steam and PlayStation 4. According to the studios, the wait will not be too long - a few weeks at most. After that, they will continue to work on Spelunky 2 to add PvP modes and other requested features.
