The drama around the Epic Games Store continues. Recently successful indie studio Re-Logic
Indie developer Gwen Frey is working on a puzzle game called Kine on her own. βI was a struggling indie developer passionate about making a project,β she said on Twitter. β I was going to sell the rights to a publisher to hire artists and finish my game properly. But I didn't because the exclusive deal with Epic saved me."

Epic Games has given millions of dollars in grants to small and experimental developers over the years and continues to do so, sponsoring events, conferences and meetups. Gwen Frey considers the company one of the most charitable in the industry. The developer posted an early trailer for Kine prior to the Epic Games deal to show how much the deal helped her game. βI made this game myself and put together the trailer. I am proud of this, but it was a huge amount of work for one person, and I did not have the funds to work for too long, βshe wrote.
