If you thought that the name of the studio is related to the legendary Doom game designer John Romero, then you were not mistaken - he founded it with his wife Brenda Romero in 2015. Their new project will allow players to choose one of 14 Chicago organized crime bosses and enter into a bloody war with rival organizations.

“Fighting for dominance in the shadow business, you can create your own criminal empire,” the developers say. “You will begin your ascent in randomly generated environments and will be forced to adapt to maintain and increase your influence and do everything possible to outwit, shoot and outlast your opponents.”

As the authority grows, it will be possible to expand the gang, crush new territories and areas of activity (from underground casinos to the alcohol trade), along the way waging war with enemy clans. Battles take place in turn-based tactical mode. The developers promise "a dynamic living city in which all people live their lives and react to your actions." Bribing the police, operations in the shadow market, the creation of a gang of thugs, racketeering - all this is a routine on the way to the title of king of the Chicago underworld. Empire of Sin premieres on PC (in Steam for Windows and macOS), PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch is scheduled for spring 2020.
