Emulator of the original Xbox launched on the Nintendo Switch

Developer and Xbox fan under the alias Voxel9 recently shared a video in which he showed the launch of the XQEMU emulator (emulates the original Xbox console) on the Nintendo Switch. Voxel9 also demonstrated that the system can run some games, including Halo: Combat Evolved.

And although so far there are problems in the form of low frame rates, the emulation works. The process itself is implemented using XQEMU. The developer also showed the launched Jet Set Radio Future (2002 game, not yet included in the Xbox One backwards compatibility program). At the same time, Jet Set Radio Future noticeably slows down: the developer even had to increase the frame rate four times to show how it would work in normal mode.

So far, it is difficult to say how this can be repeated on other copies of the Nintendo Switch, since the developer did not clarify the technical points and did not provide instructions. It is only known that the OS was originally installed on the Switch Linux, and after that, an emulator was launched on it, as can be seen in the video below. At the same time, the PS4 gamepad was used for control, and not the Joy-Con, since the original controller was not detected by the system.

Note that RetroArch has already been launched on a portable console with support for NES, SNES, Sega Genesis and other emulators of old consoles, Windows 10 and Android. And although often these systems did not work very well, it is interesting that this is even possible.
