According to the Downdetector resource, problems have been recorded in Russia, Italy, Greece, Great Britain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Israel and the United States. It is reported that 46% of Instagram users are unable to log in, 44% complain about failures in loading the news feed, and another 12% report problems with the main site.

The problems started around 6:30 AM ET (14:30 pm Moscow time). Users of the main Facebook services report problems on Twitter. At the same time, we note that only a month has passed since the previous failure. Back then, Facebook's management blamed "server configuration changes" and apologized for the failures. So far, nothing has been reported about the causes of the current malfunctions.

Recall that the company recently introduced new features for the pages of deceased users. These functions allow you to either completely delete the data, or appoint a "custodian" of the page, who will maintain it after the death of the owner.

This initiative was first proposed in 2015, but then the algorithms processed the pages of living and deceased users in the same way, which caused embarrassment and scandals. For example, there were cases when the system invited the deceased to birthdays or other holidays.

And the other day, Roskomnadzor imposed a fine of 3000 rubles on the social network for an administrative offense.
