Facebook announced that about 100 software developers may have mistakenly accessed some data about user groups on the social network of the same name. The message mentions that the developers had access to the profiles of people in some groups, as well as user activity data.

Facebook recently discovered that some third-party developers have access to user data, despite restrictions that were introduced back in April 2018. Currently, Facebook specialists have blocked access to user information and also sent appropriate messages to 100 partner developers. It is also mentioned that in the last 60 days, at least 11 third-party developers may have accessed user data.
“While we have not seen any evidence of abuse, we have asked our partners to remove any user data that may have been stored,” the company said in a statement. The size of the user base whose data could be used by software developers is not specified.
Let's remember that Facebook limited developers' access to user data after the largest data leak, which became known in March 2018. Then the consulting company Cambridge Analytica transferred to third parties the data of 87 million users of the social network. This scandal led to serious proceedings, as a result of which US regulators fined Facebook a record $5 billion. It was assumed that data collected by the consulting agency could be used to influence the opinion of American voters.
