Facebook is testing the fusion of news and stories

Analyst, blogger and developer Jane Manchun Wong reported on Twitter what Facebook is currently is testing a way to combine your newsfeed and Stories into one. According to the expert, it will be a kind of "carousel" that combines both types of content.

While this would be a pretty drastic change, it's not entirely surprising given how much focus Facebook has placed on the Stories section. Last year, Facebook's chief product officer, Chris Cox, said that the Stories format should outperform other business solutions. So we should expect an early merger, although the developers have not yet officially confirmed this.

This is not the only expected innovation. Previously, Wong had already "leakedΒ» information about preparations for the merger of Facebook Messenger and the social network's main mobile application. It is reported that this could happen quite soon. If this happens, then tapping on the Messenger button in the Facebook app will lead to the Chat section in it, and not launch the messenger. At the same time, there is no talk of a complete rejection of the application. As part of the main program, Facebook will only support text communication, while calls and media sharing will remain in Messenger.

I must say, this looks rather strange, since it is much more convenient to have all communications in one program. The company is probably trying to offer something original in this way, which others do not have, as well as fix their business after problems with data leakage and recent glitches in work.
