Facebook launches CatchUp, an app for organizing group audio chats

The application allows you to create groups of your friends or family members, so that if necessary, start a conversation with all participants at once, with just one click. It is worth noting that you do not need to have a Facebook account to interact with CatchUp, since this product works with the user's smartphone contact list. In the settings menu, you can specify who exactly from the contact list can join group calls.

According to available data, the creation of CatchUp was conceived even before the coronavirus pandemic that swept the whole world, but the current situation prompted the development team to accelerate this process. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg last week объявил about the intention to allow most of the employees to work from home. In this regard, the company is trying to create more communication tools, and CatchUp is certainly one of them.

Due to the fact that people around the world have to follow the principles of social distancing and quarantine, many have begun to use services that allow video calls, including group calls. At the same time, the user may not want to be seen by colleagues or relatives during communication. In this case, CatchUp will be exactly the tool with which you can quickly make a group audio call.

The CatchUp app is currently available in the United States for Android and iOS users. When exactly the software product can become more widespread is still unknown.
