Recall that in early April SNK reportedthat the Japanese release will take place on June 27th. For Western markets, the exact date was not named at that time, only they promised to release Samurai Shodown in the same month. It also became known that everyone who buys the game before June 30 will receive a great bonus - a free season pass that opens access to all downloadable add-ons for the next six months. Development is also underway for PC and Nintendo Switch, but these versions will not go on sale until the end of the year.

Samurai Shodown is being developed on Unreal Engine 4. Perhaps the most interesting feature is the dojo mode, which "will be based on deep machine learning to master your game style." Based on this data, artificial intelligence will create a so-called "ghost" that other players in Samurai Shodown can fight over the Web. In addition, a story campaign, the usual online fights and a training mode are promised. At the time of release, the fighting game will have 16 fighters (13 old and 3 new characters), and in subsequent DLCs, the authors will add new heroes.
