THQ Nordic Financial Report: 193% Operating Profit Growth, New Games and Studio Acquisitions

THQ Nordic has published financial report for the first quarter of 2019. The publisher announced that operating income increased by SEK 204 million ($21,3 million) during the period. This is 193% of the previous figures. Sales of games by Deep Silver and Coffee Stain Studios increased by 33%, Metro Exodus contributed to the statistics.

More interestingly, THQ Nordic shared plans for future releases. The publisher has officially confirmed the development of Saints Row V, which is responsible for the studio Volition. The same company created the previous parts of the franchise, and production has been ongoing since 2013. Studios Piranha Bytes and Fishlabs are working on new unannounced projects. Development of Dead Island 2 is still ongoing, currently being handled by Dambuster Studios, best known for Homefront: The Revolution.

THQ Nordic will release two AAA games next year, and in the near future the publisher intends to resurrect the TimeSplitters brand. To do this, one of the ideological inspirers of the original series, Steve Ellis, joined Deep Silver.
