Nokia has faced challenges in creating its own SoC, the ReefShark family, which will allow one chip to house all the key components to support next-generation networks. This is intended to significantly reduce the cost of 5G broadband equipment for base stations, reduce power consumption and reduce size. However, the launch to the market is delayed.
Nokia hopes that thanks to the new agreements it will be able to solve all the problems and keep up with its competitors. βNokia is working with several partners to support its family of ReefShark chips, which are used in many base station elements,β the Finnish firm noted.
