The Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research and the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences presented the project
The study of the named object, we recall, was carried out by the automatic station Rosetta. She arrived at the comet in the summer of 2014 after a ten-year flight. The Philae probe was even dropped onto the surface of the body, however, due to an unsuccessful landing, it ended up in the shadows and quickly exhausted its energy reserve, going into sleep mode.
The Rosetta station carried out a detailed survey of the comet using the OSIRIS (Optical, Spectroscopic, and Infrared Remote Imaging System) system. In total, about 70 photographs were received, which are now available in
It should be noted that the Rosetta spacecraft was near comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko for more than two years, until September 2016. After that, the station was dropped onto the surface of this cosmic body, ceasing to exist.
We add that earlier the archive of images from the Rosetta automatic station
