On the website of the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, under the heading "Image of the Week", a beautiful photo of the galaxy NGC 2906 has been published.

The named object belongs to the spiral type. Such galaxies have sleeves of stellar origin inside the disk, which extend almost logarithmically from the bright central part (the bulge).

The galaxy NGC 2906 is located in the constellation Leo. The presented image clearly shows the structure of the object, including the sleeves. Blue-blue blotches are a lot of massive young stars, and yellowish color is given by older luminaries and small stars.

The image was taken using the Wide Field Camera 3 instrument aboard the Hubble. This camera captures images in the visible, near infrared, near and mid ultraviolet regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.

It should be noted that April 24 marks exactly 30 years since the launch of the Discovery shuttle STS-31 with the Hubble telescope. For three decades, this apparatus has transmitted to Earth a huge amount of scientific information and a lot of magnificent images of the expanses of the Universe.
