Codenamed Razr Odyssey, the smartphone will receive a minor cosmetic update and look very similar to the original Motorola Razr introduced in 2019, according to the render. The main changes will concern the technical characteristics.
It is already known that the novelty will be built on the basis of the Snapdragon 765G mobile chipset, which offers support for fast 5G wireless networks, will receive 256 GB of flash memory, as well as eSIM support. It is also expected that the device will receive a 48-megapixel main rear camera. It can be seen at the top of the image, where the smartphone is in the closed state.
Unlike Samsung and Huawei, Motorola has opted for a more compact classic foldable phone form factor. For comparison, the same Galaxy Fold and Mate X models from Samsung and Huawei, respectively, when opened, look more like small tablets than smartphones. However, Samsung also has another model that looks more like a classic "clamshell" - Galaxy Z Flip.
According to forecasts, the updated Motorola Razr with support for 5G networks will be officially presented in the coming months. If the company decides to sell the device for $1500, as it did with the original model, then it will not be so easy to attract buyers. Based on the same Snapdragon 765G chip on which the device will be built, for example, the recently introduced OnePlus Nord, which is estimated by the manufacturer at β¬399, works.
In addition, Motorola's competitors can offer much more interesting solutions, including folding ones, for one and a half thousand dollars. For example, the recently introduced folding built on the flagship platform Snapdragon 865 Plus. And in September, the release of the iPhone 12 or the same Galaxy Z Fold 2 is expected. On the other hand, the Razr series from Motorola has never been mass. First of all, these are fashion devices, and only then - everything else.
