Foxconn founder and former chairman Terry Gou said Thursday that the resumption of production at its factories in China after supply chains collapsed due to the coronavirus outbreak has "exceeded expectations."
According to Terry Gou, the supply of components to both factories in China and Vietnam has now normalized.
The company previously said the coronavirus outbreak had a "fairly small impact" on iPhone production, suggesting its factories in other countries such as Vietnam, India and Mexico could fill the gap.
The coronavirus epidemic in China has reached its peak, the National Health Commission of China reported on Thursday. Hubei province reported only eight new cases of coronavirus infection. Many businesses are resuming operations as the government has eased the restrictive measures that were introduced in connection with the outbreak.
