FSF and GOG Celebrate International Day AGAINST DRM

On October 12, the whole world celebrates the international day AGAINST DRM.

Join us on October 12th for International Day Against DRM. We want as many people as possible to know about the benefits of DRM-free games, movies and other digital content.

Organizing this day is an initiative of the Free Software Foundation (Free Software Foundation), they also run a special campaign designed to spread information about DRM. The mission of World DRM Day is to one day rid digital content of DRM as an unnecessary restriction that poses a threat to privacy, freedom and innovation in the digital world. This year, organizers are tasked with investigating how DRM can hinder access to textbooks and academic publications. These principles are very close in spirit to us when it comes to games.

GOG.COM is the place where all your games are DRM free. This means you can store and enjoy your purchased games without having to be online all the time. You also don't have to constantly prove your right to use what you paid for. DRM-free games are one of the important principles that we have been following since the very foundation of our store 11 years ago. And we stick to it to this day.

We believe that the player should have freedom of choice. We understand that there are those who prefer to rent games or stream games, and this is also a choice! We believe that the user has the right to decide how he wants to consume digital content: by renting it, using streaming services, or by completely owning his games without DRM.

Each solution has its own benefits, but owning your games without limits gives you the ability to back up your games, access them offline, and preserve a piece of your gaming legacy for future generations.

Join now! Together we will defeat DRM.
