Fujifilm Unveils Affordable Quality XC 35mm f/2 Lens

Together with rather attractive mirrorless X-T200 In retro style, Fujifilm introduced the Fujinon XC 35mm f/2 lens. For those unfamiliar with Fujifilm's lens names, "XC" refers to the more affordable optics in the company's range. The XC 35mm f/2 should pair well with cheaper Fujifilm cameras like the X-T200 and X-T30.

The XC 35mm F2 is essentially an upgraded version of the XF 35mm f/2 R WR. It has a plastic mount and a less robust construction and is equipped with neither a diaphragm ring nor a weather seal ("R" and "WR" in the XF version name, respectively). However, it has the same optics as the XF version, so image quality should be comparable.

But simplifications have reduced the price to just $199 dollars. The result is a much more affordable 50mm (35mm equivalent) fixed lens for beginners looking for more options than a regular kit lens.

In this sense, it is very similar to the 50mm lenses traditionally available for most DSLRs, but with a focal length suitable for APS-C camera users. It also boasts a relatively light weight of 130 grams and a length of 46,5 mm.
