Galaxy Microsystems has introduced two new versions of the GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card in China, which are distinguished by a rather unusual blue color. One of the new products is called the GeForce RTX 2070 Mini and it is quite compact in size, while the other is called the GeForce RTX 2070 Metal Master (literal translation from Chinese) and is a full-size model. Interestingly, Galax has previously presented a model , and in an even more compact design.
Both graphics cards are built on printed circuit boards of Galaxy's own design. The more compact GeForce RTX 2070 Mini has a shorter board, equipped with a 6 + 2-phase power subsystem and an 8-pin auxiliary power connector. The GeForce RTX 2070 Metal Master video card is already built on a full-sized board and is equipped with a similar power subsystem.
The compact GeForce RTX 2070 Mini received a cooler with a pair of fans, an aluminum radiator and three copper heat pipes in direct contact with the GPU. The cooler protrudes slightly from the PCB, which is why the overall length of the accelerator is 190 mm, which makes the novelty one of the most compact GeForce RTX 2070. Even the Zotac RTX 2070 Mini is 211 mm long.
In turn, the GeForce RTX 2070 Metal Master received a larger cooling system with three fans that blow three radiators through which again three heat pipes pass. Note that here the tubes are assembled in a copper base. The length of the video card is 263 mm. Both new products have a rear reinforcing plate, and the fans are equipped with backlight. We also note a rather modest set of video outputs: there is only one DVI-D, HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.4 each.
The manufacturer did not overclock the GeForce RTX 2070 Mini and RTX 2070 Metal Master video cards. The Turing TU106-400 GPU is clocked at 1410/1620 MHz, while the 8 GB GDDR6 memory runs at 1750 MHz (14 GHz effective). Galax notes that the user himself will be able to overclock new items using proprietary software that supports automatic overclocking using OC Scanner.
The cost, as well as the start date of sales of the Galax GeForce RTX 2070 Mini and RTX 2070 Metal Master video cards, have not yet been specified. Note that outside of China, new items may appear in a slightly different form.
