Galax GeForce RTX 2080 Ti HOF Plus: graphics card with two cooling systems

Galaxy Microsystems has unveiled a new graphics card in its flagship Hall of Fame series. The new product is called Galax GeForce RTX 2080 Ti HOF Plus, and at first glance it is no different from the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti HOF presented last year. But there are still differences.

The thing is that the new GeForce RTX 2080 Ti HOF Plus is additionally equipped with a full coverage water block. That is, initially a large air cooling system was installed on the graphics accelerator, exactly the same as on the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti HOF. But the user will be able to independently change it to the full coverage water block provided in the kit, if he decides to include the video card in the LSS circuit of his computer.

This gives the user freedom of choice and eliminates the need to buy an additional water block. Of course, you can immediately buy a video card with a pre-installed water block, for example, the same GeForce RTX 2080 Ti HOF OC Lab. However, later in the secondary market it will be much easier to sell the accelerator with a traditional air-cooled system than with a water block alone. So the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti HOF Plus graphics card can be quite an interesting solution for some users.

If the air cooling system is already familiar to us from previous Galax video cards, then the water block here is completely new. Although its design is typical for full-coverage waterblocks: the base is made of nickel-plated copper and is able to contact the GPU, power elements of power circuits and memory chips, and the upper part is made of acrylic and metal. The company Bitspower is responsible for the creation of this water block.

The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti HOF Plus graphics card is built on a non-standard white printed circuit board and has a 16 + 3 phase power subsystem and three 8-pin auxiliary power connectors. The GPU received an impressive overclock to 1755 MHz in Boost mode, which is more than 200 MHz higher than the reference frequency. But 11 GB of GDDR6 memory runs at standard 14 GHz (effective frequency).

The cost, as well as the start date of sales of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti HOF Plus video card, have not yet been specified. But for sure we can say that the novelty will not be cheap.
