It turns out that the vehicle from the first video is called a heavily armed jet bike and will allow players to hover over the battlefield to engage in first-person battles (using both offensive and defensive weapons) as well as strategically control multiple units on the ground.
While Disintegration feels like a mix of X-COM-style real-time tactics with sci-fi shooters like Destiny or Halo - the latter isn't surprising considering Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto is involved in development. It looks like players will have to truly multi-task to be effective.
The creators also promise a story-driven single-player campaign in which players will feel like they are in the shoes of Romer Schol, an experienced gravitational bike pilot. He will lead a team of exiles on earth and will use the diverse abilities of warriors and his unique arsenal.
According to the plot, in the near future, extreme climate events, overpopulation, food shortages and a global pandemic on Earth have led to the collapse of states and brought humanity to the brink of extinction. Scientists found a solution: using new technology, human brains were removed from bodies and surgically placed in a robotic shell - a process known as integration.
This was supposed to be a temporary solution to an inevitable crisis. Everything worked well for decades and allowed people to survive. But some of the integrated ones began to consider the new form to be the future of humanity. Not wanting to reverse the process, a group of integrated people called Rayonne started a global war, took over the Earth and is now hunting down the remaining people, forcing their integration and destroying those who disagree. Romer Shoal is one of the rebels against Rayonne and outlawed integrated. He will have to fight for a future when those who wish can again find hope of becoming human.
Disintegration will also feature three intense multiplayer modes pitting pilots against their teams. Players will be able to choose different teams, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Each ground warrior will receive their own abilities. Those interested in participating in alpha testing can sign up
