Borderlands 3 was one of the most notable games at E3 2019, with a huge booth that visitors to the LA show couldn't miss. Portal Metro GameCentral was able to talk with Art Director Gearbox Software Kester Scott (Scott Kester), who told some interesting details of the development of the project.
According to Kester,
The third part of the franchise will go on sale in a few months. Will the additions to the game be the same as previous projects? Yes. “We plan to support it after launch, but in the same way as before. That's why it's considered a service game, I guess... Some of those games don't have great endgames, even though we believe in second and third playthroughs. We believe in a mode called ″Chaos″ that dramatically changes a lot of things... How much do you want the game to be harder on the second and third playthroughs? Scott Kester said. “There is a defender rank that… once you beat the game, a whole system of skills is unlocked. Our endgame is very deep and we want people to keep playing. We're planning on releasing DLC, but I think we've also tried to bet on laying the groundwork for the DLC. We've been making some pretty beefy DLCs and want to keep making them. So if it's a service game, we'll continue [to support it] but don't call it that."
Borderlands 3 will be released on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 13, 2019.
