A new faculty of Big Data Analytics has opened in our online university for programmers. In a year and a half, students will master all modern big data analytics technologies and gain the necessary experience to work in large IT companies. GeekUniversity is a joint educational project of Mail.ru Group and GeekBrains with guaranteed employment.
Anyone can enter GeekUniversity. Applicants of the Faculty of Big Data Analytics will be asked to take a test with theoretical questions. If the result is below the passing score, you can use preparatory courses to gain the missing knowledge.
The teachers of the faculty are practitioners and employees of large companies with specialized education and extensive work experience:
- Konstantin Sevostyanov, BI Lead at Citymobil;
- Mikhail Gunin, Senior BI Analyst at Citymobil;
- Leonid Orlov, Python developer, created BI systems for the government of the Russian Federation and the FSB, worked for the international companies Prognoz and ER-Telecom;
- Sergey Kruchinin, developer of military communications systems, teaches computer networks and introduction to GNU/Linux;
- Viktor Shchupochenko, developer of an enterprise project management system for oDesk and VNC;
- Alexey Petrenko, Python developer, develops IT solutions for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Each student is assigned a mentor who will help to quickly resolve any issues.
Graduates of the Faculty of Big Data Analytics will receive all the necessary competencies to solve real business problems: they will learn how to work with databases, improve knowledge in mathematics and statistics, study applied machine learning algorithms and the basics of ETL, Big Data analytics tools (Hadoop, Apache Spark), master skills in BI systems. For a year and a half of training, students will be able to solve 6 project tasks for working with data and apply the acquired skills in practice. The final stage of training will be the work on the graduation project. Graduates will receive a certificate and a certificate confirming the acquired qualifications.
The start of the first stream is on April 18, then on Mondays and Thursdays. Training is paid. You can enroll in the faculty .
