Our online university, GeekUniversity, is launching a Department of Product Management. In 14 months, students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a product manager, complete assignments from major brands, fill a portfolio with four projects, and create their own product in cross-functional teams with developers and designers. Job placement is guaranteed upon graduation. Education at the faculty will allow students to work as a product manager, product analyst, project manager.

The teachers of the faculty are practitioners and employees of large companies with specialized education and extensive work experience:

  • Sergey Gryazev (Head of b2c Digital Products at Dodo Pizza),
  • Maxim Shirokov (Product Manager, Mail.ru Group, Yula),
  • Rimma Bakhaeva (head of the product vertical at Mail.ru Group, Yula),
  • Ilya Vorobyov (head of mobile products group Mail.ru Group, Delivery Club),
  • Denis Yalugin (Head of the Product Management Department at the Minnova Group of Companies, Product Manager of the international IoT project inKin), etc.

The learning process is divided into several quarters. In the first one, students will learn the basics of the profession (generate ideas for products and features, conduct research and analyze the market, create MVPs and prototypes), the basics of UX / UI design and service design. In the second quarter, students, together with developers and designers, will begin to create a prototype of their own product, study management methodologies in Agile, Scrum, Cynefin and Waterfall structures, master team management and motivation techniques. At the end of the quarter, they will gain practical experience in managing a team and experience in creating and launching a product from scratch, which is especially appreciated by employers.

In the third quarter, students will master product and business analytics, work with databases and SQL, as a result of which they will be able to predict indicators and calculate Unit-economics at each stage of a product's life. Communication with potential employers showed that the ability to use SQL and work with databases is an important criterion for hiring and salary increases. In the fourth quarter, students will learn how to bring new products to market and learn how to promote existing ones.

The final quarter is 2 months of practice. Students will complete work on a product that will be presented to practicing product managers at the end of the training. This also includes a course to prepare for an interview for a product manager position. Graduates will receive a certificate and a certificate confirming the acquired qualifications.
