Studio Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA announced Total War: Elysium - a card collectible game that will be distributed on a shareware basis. The project will have to form decks from different historical figures and units, and all events take place in the fictional city of Elysium.
How to transfer a resource referring to the official press release, the project is similar to other representatives of the genre and has many elements of "tactical gameplay". According to the developers, in Total War: Elysium you need to create different decks and look for ways to dominate the battlefield. Creative Assembly also clarified that the franchise has begun to conquer new genres while "staying true to its strategic formula".
The game takes place in the city of Elysium, where the greatest generals from different countries and historical eras have gathered. For example, along with Napoleon Bonaparte, the Chinese commander Cao Cao will appear in the project. In addition to historical figures, Total War: Elysium features many maps of real-life combat units, such as mangonels and triremes.
The upcoming card game will have a single-player mode and multiplayer. The main gameplay features of Elysium include the ability to edit the deck right in the middle of a match and the Daybreak mechanic, which allows you to change the battlefield along with the conditions of the duel.
Total War: Elysium will release on mobile platforms this month, with a PC version coming later in 2020.
