The database of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) never ceases to please us with leaks regarding upcoming computer components. Another leak reveals to us a list of Gigabyte motherboards that are built on new AMD chipsets.
The Taiwanese manufacturer has registered three models of motherboards based on the new AMD X499 chipset. New items are called X499 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce, X499 Aorus Master and X499 Designare EX-10G. These boards will be designed primarily for the upcoming Ryzen Threadripper 3000 processors, which AMD plans to release later this year. Note that new processors must be compatible with current motherboards based on the AMD X399 chipset, however, the old platform may impose some restrictions.
As you can guess from the name, the X499 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce board will offer a regular water block designed to cool not only the processor, but also the elements of the board's power subsystem and its chipset. The X499 Aorus Master model will also belong to the upper price segment. Finally, the X499 Designare EX-10G will focus on next-generation Ryzen Threadripper workstations and offer a 10-gigabit network controller.
In turn, for the new Ryzen 3000 processors, Gigabyte will offer at least seven new motherboards based on the flagship AMD X570 chipset. These will be the following models: X570 Aorus Xtreme, X570 Aorus Master, X570 Aorus Ultra, X570 Aorus Elite, X570 I Aorus Pro WiFi, X570 Aorus Pro and X570 Gaming X. New items are arranged in order of seniority, from flagship to more budget.
Note that Gigabyte will for the first time present motherboards based on the mainstream AMD chipset in the flagship Xtreme and Master series. Previously, only top boards based on AMD X399, as well as on Intel Z and X series chipsets, were presented in these series.
Most likely, motherboards based on the AMD X570 chipset will be presented at Computex 2019 in late spring this year. The thing is that the announcement of AMD Ryzen 3000 processors is also expected there. But new products based on AMD X499 are likely to appear in the second half of the year, since new Ryzen Threadripper processors should be released later this year.
