GIMP 2.10.22

GIMP 2.10.22

Graphics editor update released GIMP. By coincidence, the bulk of the changes in this version fell on plugins for supporting various file formats.

The main thing:

  • Improved HEIC support, added AVIF support. For both formats, reading NCLX profiles and metadata, importing and exporting with 8/10/12 bits per channel works (when importing, 10 and 12 turn into 16).
  • When exporting multi-layer TIFFs, the option to crop layers to fit the image is now available.
  • Many improvements have been made to the Corel PaintShop Pro file reader plugin.
  • The "Orientation" Exif tag is now removed regardless of whether the user agreed to rotate the image when opening it. Previously, it was saved, because of which, when exporting back, the image often turned out to be incorrectly rotated.
  • For filters based on GEGL, it is now possible to remove color from the projection of all layers with an eyedropper, and not just from the current one.
  • Fixed 29 bugs.
