It is assumed that the increase in working hours is due to the fact that due to working from home, developers take more breaks in which they are distracted by household chores.

  • Collaboration activity has increased, especially in open source projects. Compared to last year, the time to process pull requests in open projects has decreased.

  • There are fears that increasing the amount of time spent on the Internet and doing extra work at the expense of personal time and rest, can lead to emotional burnout of developers.
