GitLab continues its policy of imposing JavaScript

Ignoring messages On issues that ask for the ability to use GitLab without giving it access to JavaScript, GitLab continues to tighten its bindings on JavaScript. Now the server does not return a list of files in HTML form, but adds an element with id β€œjs-tree-list” to the page, in which the elements inserted via JavaScript.

Specified behavior controlled the vue_file_list_enabled variable, which in turn is related to the vue_file_list setting that was recently changed translated by default to the enabled state.

The change to the file list display in browsers with JavaScript disabled has already affected open projects that use third-party GitLab installations and update them without analyzing changes, such as Debian, free desktop, KDE, GNOME, VLC ΠΈ Chakra Linux. Projects Kitware, Freefunk ΠΈ Manjaro not yet affected. However, some of them no longer display the listing of projects in the group.
