EA Motive CEO: Electronic Arts now feels like a different quality company

Founded by Assassin's Creed producer Jade Raymond in 2015, Canadian studio EA Motive lost its leader in October 2018. Jade Raymond is now leading the first Google Stadia development team, but what about EA Motive? GamesIndustry recently published an interview with new studio head Patrick Klaus, also a former Ubisoft employee who is known for his work on games such as Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Unity and Odyssey.

This is not the first time he has worked for Electronic Arts, and during the interview he specifically emphasized the company's much greater attention to quality:

β€œEA is like a different company now – a company that is very quality oriented. That's one of the reasons I'm so excited to be back. Of course, our commitment to making great games is a top priority, and EA leaders are really empowering the Montreal team - the many talented people we have at the studio play a significant role in making some of the top-notch games for EA.

My old job and current job at EA are different times. The company has a different leadership, a different message. And this trend is intensifying daily in the leadership messages and discussions that we have. It feels like it's an absolute priority."

EA Motive was originally created so that Electronic Arts could tap into the massive action-adventure market, one of the few that doesn't have games from the publisher. The team has been working on a new game in this genre for several years, and Mr. Klaus confirmed that the project is still alive, along with another in which the developers want to create a completely unique environment in the Star Wars universe. We are not talking about the game that Visceral was working on - that ambitious project was completely curtailed.

So far, EA Motive has become famous only for a good, but still far from ideal single-player campaign for Star Wars Battlefront II, in which actress Janina Gavankar (Janina Gavankar) appeared to the players as the former commander of the Galactic Empire, Iden Versio.
