Founder and lead developer of the Lutris gaming platform, which provides tools to simplify the installation, configuration and management of games in Linux, commented on the adoption of changes generated by large language models into the project's codebase. The developer stated that using AI is only a problem if the person doesn't know what they're doing or if the AI tools are of poor quality.
According to Lutris's creator, Claude's AI toolkit began generating quite decent code several months ago, and thanks to AI, he was able to accomplish everything he had missed last year due to health issues and depression. He also stated that he anticipated potential backlash against AI-generated changes, and therefore removed Claude's co-authorship from the commits a few days ago and wished them luck in their attempts to determine what was AI-generated and what wasn't.
