Last month we that the launch of the first satellites as part of the large-scale Russian project "Sphere" is scheduled for 2023. Now this information has been confirmed by the state corporation Roskosmos.
Recall that after deployment, the Sphere space system will be able to solve various problems. This is, in particular, the provision of communications and high-speed Internet access, remote sensing of the Earth, etc.
The basis of the "Sphere" will be about 600 satellites, organized in the form of a multi-tiered space network. These devices will be able to exchange data not only with ground equipment, but also with each other.
The Sphere should include both existing projects (the GLONASS navigation system, the Express TV broadcasting platform, the Gonets personal satellite communications system) and new ones (in particular, the Express-RV satellite communications system).
Government and commercial structures, as well as various organizations of Roscosmos will take part in the implementation of the project. The deployment of the orbital constellation, according to the Roscosmos TV Studio, is planned to be carried out in about five years - from 2023 to 2028.
