On February 26, version 26.3.0 of the cross-platform multi-format electronic dictionary was released. GoldenDict-ng - dictionary fork GoldenDict.
Dictionary features:
- Support local dictionaries in formats: MDict, StarDict, ABBYY Lingvo DSL and .lsa/.dat, XDXF, Zim, Aard and Aard 2 (Slob), DictD, Epwing, SDictionary, Babylon and Babylon glossary builder, files with sounds in directories and combined into a zip archive.
- Support network sources: Wikipedia and Wiktionary, DICT protocol, LinguaLibre and Forvo, any sites that support searching for words entered in the address bar.
- Support other sources: from other applications, text-to-speech, morphology dictionaries, transliteration.
- Search across multiple sources at once.
- Full-text search in local dictionaries using the library Xapian.
- Integration с Anki.
- And much more.
The dictionary is written in C++ using the Qt 6 framework and is distributed under the GNU GPL 3 license.
Major changes:
- Added a delay in initialization of the pop-up window;
- converting sources into a modern HTML structure;
- Use Wayland by default unless another platform is specified;
- network caching setting removed;
- use of Unicode normalization when creating full-text indexes and searching;
- added feature "white lists" for network sources;
- other improvements and bug fixes.
