Google Chrome now supports VR

At the moment, Google dominates the browser market with a share of more than 60%, and its Chrome has already become the de facto standard, including for developers. The bottom line is that Google offers a ton of tools that help a web developer and make their job easier.

Google Chrome now supports VR

In the latest beta version of Chrome 79 appeared support for the new WebXR API for creating VR content. In other words, now it will be possible to transfer the necessary data directly to the browser. Other Chromium-based web browsers such as Edge, as well as Firefox Reality and Oculus Browser will support these specifications in the near future.

In addition, there is a feature of adaptive icon size for installed PWA apps on Android. This will allow you to adjust the size of app icons to the size of regular ones from the Play Store.

Recall that according to analysts from the company StatCounter, mobile "Chrome" was 4% more popular in the world over the past few months. And in Russia, this figure has grown even more. At the same time, the share of Safari has decreased, as well as that of Yandex.Browser.

It should also be recalled that recently came out release version of Chrome 78, which received a number of improvements. These include forced dark mode, online password verification through a database of compromised accounts, and other changes. All this should, as stated, increase the security of the browser.
