Google wants to create a medical record search service for doctors

David Feinberg, one of the representatives of the newly created division of Google Health, spoke about some of his department's plans. According to Feinberg, at the moment Google Health experts are considering creating a full-fledged search engine for doctors, which will allow them to search through patients' medical records.

Google wants to create a medical record search service for doctors

A company spokesperson said there should be a search bar that will give doctors the ability to search for medical records as easily as if they were doing it through a regular search engine. The system will be a hybrid of a search engine and a medical database. It will be possible to search in it according to various criteria. So, for example, by indicating the number β€œ87” in the β€œage” column, the doctor will find all patients aged 87 years. It is planned that the service will completely abandon advertising.

However, members of the division are not yet sure about the imminent implementation of this project, since its creation requires the consent of the rest of the Google team.

Previously, there was already a Google Health project, which was an online repository of medical information. Users of the service could upload information about their health status and medical history to the Internet, as well as exchange data with the attending physician. The project was closed on January 1, 2012 due to low popularity.
