Google confirms the existence of the Pixel 3a on its website

Google again accidentally (or not?) confirmed the name of the new product on its website - in this case we are talking about the long-awaited simplified versions of the Pixel 3. According to the screenshots that The Verge journalists took on the Google Store page, the new phones will indeed be officially called Pixel 3a:

And although the search giant removed the mention of the new device from the official page, the leak has already occurred. Resource 9to5Google reports that the website also displayed links to the previously lit Nest Hub Max and the Nest Hub. Neither the Pixel 3a product page nor the new Pixel comparison page have been active, so the leak has only confirmed the name of the phone so far.

However, the name was almost the only detail that required official confirmation - earlier a Reddit forum member discovered a data array in the Google Play Console (app developer software), presenting almost all the specifications of the two new devices, codenamed Bonito and Sargo. They are expected to feature 5,6-inch (Sargo) and 6-inch (Bonito) 1080×2220 OLED displays, Snapdragon 670 processors, 4GB of RAM, a 12MP rear camera, a 3000mAh battery and , perhaps again a 3,5mm headphone jack.

The most interesting detail that has become known is the timing of the launch. Google is pointing to the middle of the year, so we might not have to wait for the traditional October event when the company usually releases new Pixel devices. Perhaps already in May at the Google I / O developer conference, the devices will be officially presented to the public.

Previously, rumors also mentioned a flash drive with a capacity of 32/64 GB, front 8-megapixel camera, fingerprint scanner, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5 LE wireless adapters and a USB Type-C port. Also, the Pixel 3a XL name was previously seen in the Android Q beta code.

The fact that Google is already creating product pages - usually one of the last steps before a launch - also points to a relatively imminent announcement. In October, we will probably see the Pixel 4 series already.
