Google cleans up Android.com website from references to Huawei smartphones

The situation around Huawei continues to heat up. Almost every day we learn about new facts of the termination of cooperation with this Chinese manufacturer due to its blacklisting by the American authorities. One of the first IT corporations to break off business relations with Huawei was Google. But the Internet giant did not stop there and on the eve of β€œcleaned up” the Android.com website, removing mention of Huawei Mate X and P30 Pro smartphones from it.

Huawei Mate X was presented on the Android.com website in the section dedicated to the first 5G devices. Now, instead of four, three devices remained in it - Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, LG V50 ThinQ 5G and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G.

As for the Huawei P30 Pro, it used to be positioned by Google as the owner of one of the best built-in cameras. After deleting information about him, three models also remained on the page - Google Pixel 3, Motorola Moto G7 and OnePlus 6T.

How the confrontation between Huawei and the United States will end is still difficult to predict. Optimists hope for a happy ending, when the parties fight for some more time, and then find a compromise solution in which everyone is satisfied. But the most severe scenario is not excluded, when Huawei is completely deprived of access to the hardware and software platforms that it has used so far. In this case, the company will have to look for alternative options, among which is the transition to the architecture MIPS or RISC-V and own operating system Hongmeng.
