According to online sources, Google has begun testing a new subscription to its proprietary photo storage service Google Photos. As part of the “monthly photo printing” subscription, the service will automatically determine the best pictures, print them and send them to users.
Currently, only certain Google Photos users who have received an invitation can use the subscription. After subscribing, the user will receive monthly 10 photos selected from those taken in the last 30 days. The description of the new feature says that its purpose is to "deliver the best memories right to your home." As for the cost of the new service, it is currently $7,99 per month.
Despite the fact that a special algorithm is engaged in determining the best photos, the user can set the desired priorities by choosing one of the three available options, which the system will focus on when selecting pictures for printing. The user can prioritize images that feature "people and pets", "landscapes", or select "a little of everything".
In addition, before sending to print, the user can edit the selected pictures, making them more attractive. Google believes that the photos created in this way are “perfect for placing on the refrigerator or in a frame, and can also be a good gift” to a loved one.
For now, the new subscription is classified as a "trial program" available to select users in the United States. The timing of the launch of the program for all users of the service has not yet been announced.
